This study compares speed-density regression models on congested city roads and tolled highways based on traffic flow data. A statistical-based approach for traffic parameter determination at crowded urban intersections is proposed. Traffic congestion is a significant issue, and adding more lanes is not always feasible. Automatic traffic monitoring using surveillance cameras and vision-based camera systems offer versatile solutions for estimating traffic parameters, such as speeds and vehicle counts, for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications.
