ARM Based Bank Lockers Safety System Using Digital Key Password With Door Access Facility Projects For Final Year Engineering Students

Introduction:

Some people will try to steal property which may endanger the safety of money in the bank, house, and office. To overcome the security threat, most people will install a bunch of locks or alarm systems. Security is a primary issue in a modern domestic and office environment. The technological advancement of human civilization has forced us to modify every aspect of our life to new standards. No parts of human life remain untouched by technological breakthrough Almost all the traditional method of accomplishing daily work is heading towards development. Security is the prime concern in our day-to-day life. Everyone wants to be as much secure as possible.

The main goal of this project is to design a locker security system using ARM controller technology that can be organized in banks, secured offices, and homes. In this system, only authenticated persons can recover money from the locker. We can implement a locker security system based on an ARM controller door locking system using ARM controller which can activate, authenticate and validate the user and unlock the door. When the person sends the password to the microcontroller, it will verify the passwords entered by the keyboard (by the person present in front of the locker). If the entered password is correct then the locker will be opened otherwise it will remain in the locked position. This system is more secure.

Block diagram explanation

Power supply unit

This section needs two voltages viz., +12 V & +5 V, as working voltages. Hence specially designed power supply is constructed to get regulated power supplies.

4X4 Keypad:

A keypad is a set of buttons arranged in a block or “pad” which usually bears digits, symbols, and usually a complete set of alphabetical letters. If it mostly contains numbers then it can also be called a numeric keypad. Keypads are found on many alphanumeric keyboards and on other devices such as calculators, push-button telephones, combination locks, and digital door locks, which require mainly numeric input.

ARM processor

ARM is a computer processor-based RISC architecture. A RISC-based computer design approach means ARM processors require significantly fewer transistors than typical processors in average computers. This approach reduces costs, heat, and power use. The low power consumption of ARM processors has made them very popular:

The ARM architecture (32-bit) is the most widely used in mobile devices, and the most popular 32-bit one in embedded systems.

Buffers

Buffers do not affect the logical state of a digital signal (i.e. a logic 1 input results in a logic 1 output whereas logic 0 input results in a logic 0 output). Buffers are normally used to provide extra current drive at the output but can also be used to regularize the logic present at an interface.

Drivers

This section is used to drive the relay where the output is the complement of input which is applied to the drive but the current will be amplified.

Relays

It is an electromagnetic device that is used to drive the load connected across the relay and the o/p of the relay can be connected to the controller or load for further processing.

Methodology:

This project is developed for the door access facility for Bank Lockers Safety System. The main modules in this project are a 4X4 Keypad, an ARM controller unit with an LCD, and Door.

This whole model will be there in the bank. This model has a 4X4 keypad for password entry to open the locker door. If the person is authorized the locker door will be opened and if the person is unauthorized the door will not be opened. First, the person has to enter the password to open the door, then entered password information will be given to the ARM controller, then the ARM controller analyses the signal and if the password is correct then the controller activates the door(door will be opened). If the password is wrong then the controller deactivates the door.  So from this project, only the Authorized person can access his Bank locker.

Advantages:

  1. Only the authenticated person can recover money from the locker.
  2. Makes an activity safer and easier
  3. Time-saving
  4. Sophisticated  security
  5. No manual errors.
  6.  Need not carry any card.
  7. Others cannot steel the user’s entry key

Disadvantages:

  1. Requires Expertise.
  2. It has less memory.

Applications:

  1. This project can be implemented in homes, Schools, Colleges, Companies, etc…
  2. Wherever locker security is important there we can implement this project.
